Laying of PE-HD sealing sheets in civil engineering requires heated wedge welding machines, which provide exactly controlled process parameters (wedge temperature, contact pressure and velocity). Especially for landfills these parameters have to be recorded during the welding process.

The shown matrix display is part of such a machine (Image at right). Besides the parameters mentioned it also displays the roller gap, heating input power, ambient temperature and seam length. The bars indicate the preset value and allowance on top, the actual value below. Deviations are highlighted and recorded on the integrated printer and a memory card, if present.
